ChartMogul vs Baremetrics (2026): Price at $120K, $600K and $3M ARR, Free Plans and Dunning
ChartMogul and Baremetrics are subscription analytics tools, not billing systems: both read your billing data (Stripe, Chargebee, Recurly and others) and turn it into MRR, churn and LTV, and both price on the ARR they track. Pick ChartMogul if you are under $120K ARR (it is free there, with forecasting and benchmarks included), bill through Paddle, or run more than one billing system. Pick Baremetrics if failed payments are a real leak, because its Recover add-on does dunning and ChartMogul has none. Between $360K and $3.6M ARR the list prices are close; which is cheaper depends on which Baremetrics price list you see, because Baremetrics is running two.
Pricing, side by side
ChartMogul is free up to $10K MRR ($120K ARR). Above that, Starter and Pro step up by ARR band to $10M ARR, and billing yearly saves about 17%. Enterprise starts at $19,900 a year. Its pricing page shows one band at a time; the band edges below come from the page's slider script.
| Plan | Price (monthly / billed yearly) | For / limits |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Free | Up to $10K MRR ($120K ARR); Unlimited team members; 1 billing source; unlimited custom and third-party sources; 2 standard destinations; 0 advanced destinations; 5 team dashboards; 3 connected mailboxes |

Prices verified on chartmogul.com/pricing on October 11, 2026.
Baremetrics' pricing page showed two different versions on October 11, 2026, so it is A/B testing its prices:
- Version A: Launch from $49, Growth from $189, Scale from $749 a month billed yearly ($75, $255 and $1,152 billed monthly). No free plan. This is the table below.
- Version B: free up to $180K ARR, then Launch $49 a month to $360K ARR; Growth from $69 and Scale from $409, stepping up by ARR band; annual plans "up to 35%" off. Its FAQ says "Launch is month-to-month only", which conflicts with version A's yearly Launch price.
| Plan | Price (monthly / billed yearly) | For / limits |
|---|---|---|
| Launch | from $75/mo ($49/mo billed yearly) | Up to $360K ARR |
| Growth | from $255/mo ($189/mo billed yearly) | $360K to $3.6M ARR |
| Scale | from $1,152/mo ($749/mo billed yearly) | $3.6M+ ARR |
| Add-on: Payment Recovery | +$129/mo or 10% of recovered revenue | Dunning: recover failed payments. The flat plan carries an ROI guarantee (next month free if it recovers less than the subscription costs); the 10% option is stated on the second pricing-page version (2026-10-11). |
| Add-on: Cancellation Insights | +$129/mo | Cancellation feedback |
Prices verified on baremetrics.com/pricing on October 10, 2026.
Both versions sell Payment Recovery at $129 a month or 10% of the revenue it recovers, and Cancellation Insights at $129 a month. More detail on Baremetrics pricing.
What each costs at $120K, $600K and $3M ARR
List prices per month, without add-ons, read on October 11, 2026. "Yearly" means the monthly rate on annual billing.
| ARR tracked (MRR) | ChartMogul Starter yearly / monthly | ChartMogul Pro yearly / monthly | Baremetrics, version A yearly / monthly | Baremetrics, version B listed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $120K ($10K) | $0 (Free plan) | $49 / $75 (Launch) | $0 (free to $180K) | |
| $600K ($50K) | $99 / $119 | $174 / $209 | from $189 / $255 (Growth) | $69 (Growth) |
| $3M ($250K) | $245 / $295 | $449 / $539 | from $189 / $255 (Growth) | $299 (Growth) |
Read in money: at $600K ARR, ChartMogul Starter on yearly billing is $1,188 a year; Baremetrics is $2,268 (version A, yearly) or $828 (version B, listed price). At $3M ARR, ChartMogul Starter is $2,940 a year and Pro $5,388; Baremetrics is from $2,268 (version A) or $3,588 (version B). Version A shows only a starting price per plan, so its Growth price at $3M may be higher than $189. The highest figure in the table is 0.75% of MRR (Baremetrics version A, monthly, at $120K ARR), so for most teams the deciding factor is features, not price. ChartMogul's $3M figure sits on its $1.5M-$3M band edge; just above $3M, Starter is $382 a month yearly.
The decisions that actually differ
Free plan
ChartMogul's Free plan covers $120K ARR and includes the metrics, segmentation, benchmarks, a 12-month ARR forecast and the built-in CRM, with one billing source. Baremetrics has a free plan only in version B (to $180K ARR).
Dunning and failed-payment recovery
ChartMogul does not recover failed payments; you need your billing tool's dunning or a third-party tool. Baremetrics Recover costs $129 a month or 10% of what it recovers; the flat fee is the cheaper choice once it recovers more than $1,290 a month. See revenue churn for why involuntary churn matters.
Billing systems and Paddle
ChartMogul connects Stripe, Chargebee and Recurly natively and 22 more systems, including Paddle, Maxio, Zuora, Xero and QuickBooks, through its partner SaaSync. Baremetrics lists Stripe, Shopify Partners, Braintree, Recurly, App Store Connect, Google Play and Chargebee, plus an API. Baremetrics does not list Paddle; one third-party review says it does, which we could not confirm. Billing sources per plan: ChartMogul 1 / 1 / 5 / 15; Baremetrics 1 / 2 / unlimited.
Seats and CRM
ChartMogul Starter caps the team at 3 people; Free and Pro are unlimited. Since August 5, 2026 ChartMogul's CRM has no paid seats. Baremetrics says it prices "never by seat count".
Forecasting and data export
ChartMogul includes a 12-month ARR forecast on every plan and, on Pro, exports to warehouses such as Snowflake and BigQuery. Baremetrics sells Forecast+ (P&L, runway and burn from QuickBooks or Xero) and lists scenario planning on Scale. Neither builds a full operating model; for that, see building a SaaS financial model.
Switching and lock-in
Lock-in is low on both: they read from your billing system, so the source data stays where it is, and you can connect the other tool and let it import history. What does not move is anything you added by hand: CSV or API data sources, custom attributes, segments and saved reports. Contract terms matter more: ChartMogul Enterprise needs an annual contract, and both vendors discount yearly billing, so check your renewal date before switching.

Frequently asked questions
Google showed no "People also ask" box for this query on October 11, 2026; these questions come from the pages that rank for it.
Is Baremetrics cheaper than ChartMogul?
Under $120K ARR, no: ChartMogul is free, and Baremetrics is free only on its version B page. Between $360K and $3.6M ARR it depends on the version: version B's Growth from $69 undercuts ChartMogul Starter at $600K ARR, version A's $189 does not.
Do I need a separate dunning tool if I use ChartMogul?
Yes, or your billing system's own retries. ChartMogul has no payment recovery.
Which is better for a Stripe SaaS?
Both connect to Stripe natively. Choose on free-plan size (ChartMogul) or built-in recovery (Baremetrics).
Can I use both at the same time?
Nothing in either pricing page prevents it; both read the same billing data. You pay twice, so most teams run both only during a switch.
