DocSend Pricing (2026): Every Plan, the Free Tier Most Reviews Miss, and What a 3-Month Raise Costs
DocSend (part of Dropbox since March 2021) charges $10 to $180 a month on yearly billing and $15 to $300 billed monthly, and those list prices have not changed on any archived copy of its pricing page since February 2024. A solo founder sending a tracked deck needs Standard at $65 a month billed monthly; a seed team that wants NDA gating and watermarks needs Advanced at $250 a month for three users. For a typical 3-month raise, paying monthly is cheaper than committing to a year, unless a VC or accelerator gets you DocSend's partner discount of up to 90% off for a year, in which case annual Advanced drops to $180 for the whole year. There is also a free tier, the Limited Trial, that most comparison pages say does not exist.

Billing terms: DocSend's pricing page shows the yearly price by default ("Save up to 40%"). Personal and Standard are priced per user. Advanced and Advanced Data Rooms are flat prices that include three users; each extra user costs $60 a month on yearly billing and $90 on monthly billing, according to the page's own tooltips. Almost every third-party page quotes $90 for both, and two of them describe Advanced as "per user", which it is not. Visitors (your investors) never need a licence. Sales tax is added where Dropbox is registered.
What it costs at pre-seed, seed and Series A
The real question is the cost of the raise, not the cost per month. The table prices a 3-month raise three ways: three months on monthly billing then cancel, a 12-month yearly commitment, and the same yearly plan with the partner discount as third-party perk sites report it.
| Stage and setup | Plan needed | 3 months, billed monthly | 12 months, billed yearly | Yearly with partner discount (reported) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-seed: 1 user, tracked deck and a few files | Standard | $195 | $540 | $54 (90% off) |
| Seed: 2 users, NDA gating and watermarks | Advanced | $750 | $1,800 | $180 (90% off, raised up to $2M) |
| Series A: 4 users, NDA and watermarks | Advanced + 1 extra user | $1,020 | $2,520 | $1,260 (50% off, raised up to $10M) |
| Series A: 4 users, audit log and diligence tracking | Advanced Data Rooms + 1 extra user | $1,170 | $2,880 | Not confirmed for this plan |
Computed from DocSend's list prices read October 12, 2026; assumes the raise lasts 3 months, you cancel the monthly plan after it, and a yearly plan cannot be refunded part-way. The stage needs and user counts are our assumptions.
Read in plain terms: on monthly billing, the yearly plan only becomes cheaper if your raise runs past 8 months on Standard or past 7 months on Advanced and Advanced Data Rooms. Our fundraising guide puts a typical raise at 4 to 6 months, inside that window, so monthly usually wins. The exception is the partner discount, which makes a yearly plan the cheapest paid option by a wide margin. Dropbox's own partner page says only "Startups can get up to 90% off Dropbox DocSend for a year" through "hundreds of VCs, Accelerators, and Incubators". The stage tiers (90% at seed up to $2M raised, 50% at Series A up to $10M, 20% at Series B up to $20M, yearly Standard or Advanced, new customers, one time) come from perk aggregators, not from DocSend, and two competitor pages (Peony and Orangedox) add that renewals are at full price. No source we read says whether Advanced Data Rooms qualifies. Ask the partner which plan the code covers before you pick one.
Who needs which plan
- Free Limited Trial: 10 links, 5 stored documents, two viewable visits per document (Dropbox help). Enough to test a deck, not to run a raise.
- Personal ($10 / $15): single documents only, so no data room.
- Standard ($45 / $65 per user): multi-file sharing, video analytics, branding and data rooms capped at 200 assets each. Fits a pre-seed founder sending a deck plus a short follow-up folder.
- Advanced ($150 / $250 for 3 users): adds lightweight data rooms (2,000 assets each), visitor email verification, allow and block lists, folder-level security, dynamic watermarks and NDA gating.
- Advanced Data Rooms ($180 / $300 for 3 users): adds group permissions, due-diligence tracking, an audit log, automatic file indexing and 4,000 assets. The pricing page says 4,000 assets "per data room"; the help article says "shared across the entire team". We could not resolve which is right.
Every team plan includes unlimited data rooms. What a Series A diligence room should hold is covered in our guide to due diligence for SaaS companies.
Trial, add-ons and costs that are easy to miss
- The trial is of Advanced Data Rooms, not "all plans". A new account starts a 14-day trial of the top self-serve plan; the help article mentions a card only at the end of the trial. If no card is on file when it ends, the account drops to the free Limited Trial and links that use premium features stop working (trial overview). Send your live raise links from a paid plan, not from the trial.
- Add-ons are quote-only: Salesforce integration, SSO and sub-teams say "contact our sales team". Salesforce had a published $20 per user price until spring 2024.
- Enterprise has no published price.
- Non-profits get 30% off (US 501(c)(3) only).
- A possible price test: Peony, a competitor, reported on October 6, 2026 a DocSend page variant with Standard at $30 a user per month yearly and no Personal plan. We did not see it on October 12, so the table above shows $45. If you see $30, you are looking at that variant.
Not hands-on tested yet: we have not run a live account on DocSend. Prices and terms come from DocSend's published pricing page and Dropbox's help docs, read on October 12, 2026.
Alternatives at a glance

Frequently asked questions
Google showed no "People also ask" box for this query; these questions come from the pages that rank for it.
Does DocSend have a free plan?
Yes, in a limited form. After the 14-day trial, an account without a card becomes the free Limited Trial: 10 links, 5 stored documents, and two viewable visits per document.
How much does a DocSend data room cost?
Data rooms start on Standard ($45 a user per month yearly, $65 monthly) with a 200-asset cap. Watermarks and NDA gating need Advanced at $150 a month yearly or $250 monthly for three users; the full diligence feature set is Advanced Data Rooms at $180 or $300.
Can I use DocSend for just one month?
Yes. Every self-serve plan has a monthly price, so you can pay for the months of your raise and cancel. Monthly costs more per month but less in total for any raise shorter than about 7 to 8 months.
Does DocSend have a startup discount?
Yes, through partners: Dropbox says "up to 90% off Dropbox DocSend for a year" via participating VCs, accelerators and incubators. Several pages that rank for this question say no discount exists; that is wrong.
Is DocSend owned by Dropbox?
Yes, since March 22, 2021. What Dropbox shut down on March 31, 2025 was its own "Send and track" feature, not DocSend.
