cfo.ai (Formerly Runway) Pricing in 2026: Plans, Trial and What You Pay per Year
cfo.ai, the company formerly called Runway Financial, publishes three plans: Startup at $375/month billed yearly ($500/month on monthly billing), Growth at $1,125/month billed yearly ($1,500/month on monthly billing), and Enterprise at a custom price. Paying yearly saves 25%. There is a 14-day free "work trial" and no free plan. In a year that is $4,500 (Startup) or $13,500 (Growth) on annual billing, or $6,000 and $18,000 month to month. The plans differ mainly by AI usage and the number of integrations, not by features. Fractional CFOs get a separate partner rate from $262.50 per client per month, billed yearly.
If you searched "Runway pricing" and landed in the wrong place: the finance tool you knew as Runway rebranded as cfo.ai on September 10, 2026 and moved to cfo.ai. The domain runway.com now belongs to Runway, the AI video company, which has its own unrelated pricing. This page is about the finance product.

Prices, plan limits, the trial and the partner rate verified on cfo.ai/pricing on October 22, 2026 (unchanged since our previous check on October 10, 2026). cfo.ai does not publish the price of top-up AI credits or how many credits "standard AI usage" includes. The site also shows a "Launch Month" banner offering to build your first model free; the terms of that offer are not on the pricing page.
What each cfo.ai plan includes
Startup ($375/month yearly, $500 monthly). cfo.ai pitches it as the plan "when 5 integrations cover your finance stack". It includes standard AI usage (limits reset monthly), up to 5 standard integrations, up to 500,000 synced rows per month, an MCP server and Slack app, proactive alerts and triggers, unlimited models and scenarios, and one workspace.
Growth ($1,125/month yearly, $1,500 monthly). Everything in Startup plus 4x the AI usage, up to 8 standard integrations and up to 2 million synced rows per month. Nothing else is listed as Growth-only, so you are paying three times the Startup price for more AI capacity, more connected systems and more data volume.
Enterprise (custom). Custom price and AI credits, premium integrations including enterprise ERPs and data warehouses, multiple workspaces, SSO / SAML, priority support and a dedicated "Forward Deployed Finance Partner" with a shared Slack channel. cfo.ai's integrations page marks Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, PostgreSQL and MySQL as premium, so a company that needs warehouse data in the model is looking at Enterprise.
Partner rate for fractional CFOs. From $262.50 per client per month, billed yearly, set by how many clients a practice brings. Each client gets its own workspace, and the partner rate includes premium integrations and SSO.
What cfo.ai actually is now
The rebrand was more than a new name. At launch the company described its product as Ari, an AI agent meant to act as a CFO for founders (SiliconANGLE, September 10, 2026; FF News, same day). Today's site describes Ari as an assistant that connects to your ledger, bank and payroll, keeps one model of the company current and tells you what changed. According to cfo.ai, it reads those systems without writing back to them, runs the math on a deterministic engine, and lets you trace every figure to its formula inputs and source rows. Featured integrations include QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, Rippling, Gusto, Stripe, HubSpot, Salesforce, Ramp, Brex, Mercury and Google Sheets, and the pricing page links to "600+ integrations".
That shape explains the price. You are paying for connected data and an always-on agent working from your books, which only pays off once there are books, payroll and bank accounts with history to connect.
Is cfo.ai worth it for an early-stage startup?
It fits a company with real actuals in QuickBooks or Xero, payroll in Rippling or Gusto, a few bank and card accounts, and a founder or chief of staff who wants a live model and board pack built from those systems without hiring an analyst. Against a fractional CFO retainer, most often $5,000 to $7,000 a month (see fractional CFO cost), $375 to $1,125 a month is cheap, though cfo.ai itself says Ari does not close your books.
It is a stretch for a pre-seed or seed SaaS company that is mostly modelling the future: hiring plans, pricing, churn and runway before there is much history. At that stage the integrations you would be paying for have little in them, and $4,500 a year is a meaningful line in a small budget. There is also no free plan, so the 14-day trial is the only way to try it without paying.
cfo.ai vs cheaper options: cost per year
| Option | Entry price | Year 1 at entry tier | Free plan | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| cfo.ai Startup | $375/mo yearly, $500 monthly | $4,500 (yearly) / $6,000 (monthly) | No, 14-day trial | Companies with books and payroll to connect |
| cfo.ai Growth | $1,125/mo yearly, $1,500 monthly | $13,500 / $18,000 | No | More systems, more AI usage |
| Forecastr Essentials | $5,000/yr | $5,000 | No | Founders who want a human analyst to build the model |
| Adlega Founder | $41/mo yearly, $49 monthly | $490 / $588 | Yes, $0 | SaaS founders building a driver-based forecast themselves |
| Spreadsheet | $0 | $0 plus your time | n/a | Pre-revenue, a handful of assumptions |
cfo.ai prices from cfo.ai/pricing on October 22, 2026. Forecastr from forecastr.com/pricing as last verified on October 10, 2026 (see our Forecastr vs Adlega page). Adlega Founder and Growth are founding-member rates; list prices after launch are $98 and $298 a month.
A lower-cost alternative for SaaS founders
Adlega is our product, so weigh this accordingly. It takes the opposite approach: instead of connecting to your systems first, you describe the business in drivers (pricing, new customers, churn, hires, spend) and get a 36-month forecast with native MRR, churn, CAC, burn and runway. Its AI CFO reviews assumptions and explains every number back to the formula. There is a free plan, and paid plans are $49/month (Founder) and $149/month (Growth), or $490 and $1,490 a year. It does less than cfo.ai with live data: integrations beyond Founder's single actuals sync are still rolling out. For the full head-to-head, see cfo.ai vs Adlega.

FAQ
How much does cfo.ai cost?
Startup is $375/month billed yearly or $500/month billed monthly. Growth is $1,125/month billed yearly or $1,500/month billed monthly. Enterprise is custom. Annual billing saves 25%.
What is Runway Financial's pricing now?
Runway Financial rebranded as cfo.ai on September 10, 2026, so its pricing is cfo.ai's: $375 or $1,125 a month billed yearly, $500 or $1,500 billed monthly, and custom Enterprise. Old Runway pricing pages and third-party listings may show different numbers; the current plans are on cfo.ai/pricing.
Does cfo.ai have a free trial or a free plan?
There is a 14-day free "work trial" and no free plan. During its launch month the site also offers to build your first model free; the terms of that offer are not published on the pricing page.
Is Runway pricing the same as Runway AI video pricing?
No. runway.com is now Runway, an AI video and world-model company, with its own plans. The finance tool formerly called Runway is cfo.ai.
What is the difference between cfo.ai Startup and Growth?
Growth gives 4x the AI usage, up to 8 integrations instead of 5, and up to 2 million synced rows a month instead of 500,000. The listed features are otherwise the same.
Is there a cheaper alternative to cfo.ai?
Yes. A spreadsheet is free, and self-serve tools cost less: Adlega has a free plan and paid plans from $49/month, built for SaaS forecasting. You give up cfo.ai's live connections to your ledger, bank and payroll in exchange.

Where Adlega is weaker
Adlega is self-serve: you build the model yourself. The AI CFO guides you and explains every number, but no analyst builds it for you, so a founder who wants the work done by a person may prefer a done-for-you service. Its integrations (Stripe, Chargebee, Google Analytics, Google Ads), forecast-vs-actuals and scenario comparison are still rolling out on the Growth plan, so today most numbers come from the drivers you enter rather than synced data. And it is built around SaaS metrics, so a business without recurring revenue will get less from it than from a general-purpose planning tool.
