Customer churn vs revenue churn

Customer churn = customers lost ÷ customers at the start of the period. Revenue churn = MRR lost ÷ MRR at the start — it can differ a lot from customer churn if your churned accounts are bigger or smaller than average. A small monthly number compounds: 3% monthly churn means roughly 30% of a cohort is gone within a year. Average customer lifetime is 1 ÷ churn rate, so lowering churn is the highest-leverage way to raise LTV.
