Deel Pricing 2026: $599 EOR Headline vs the Real Invoice (Deposits, Accruals, Fees)

Deel's employer of record (EOR) costs $599 per employee per month, the same list price on every archived copy of its pricing page since June 2024. Contractors cost $49 a month and Contractor of Record $325. The $599 is not your invoice, though: Deel's own help center adds a refundable deposit of 1 to 1.5 months of all charges per hire, a monthly severance accrual in countries such as Germany, India and Brazil, a mandatory Employer Liability Cost line and $50 a month for contracts outside the local currency. Deel fits a seed-stage SaaS company hiring its first people abroad without a local entity. For US-only teams, its newer US Payroll ($29) and PEO ($125, or $110/$120 on the same page) cost more than they did a year ago and more than plain US payroll tools.

Deel's FAQ describes "flexible month-to-month pricing with no long-term commitments required". No annual EOR price is published; annual and quarterly instalments exist in its help center but are a sales quote. A $899 "Enterprise" EOR tier appeared on the June 2026 archived page and is gone from the live Deel pricing page.

What the EOR invoice adds to $599

Deel's pricing FAQ says "no hidden fees". Its help center documents five extra lines that founders tend to meet only after signing:

  • Deposit. "The standard deposit is between 1 - 1.5 all monthly charges, including employee salary, employer costs, fixed allowances, and management fees." Removing probation means "a two month deposit"; paid time off more than 8 days above the legal minimum also means two months; each extra month of notice adds a month. Refunds come "within 60 days after the termination process is completed and all invoices are paid" (deposit rules).
  • Severance accrual. "Each month Deel will add a Severance Accrual charge to the monthly client invoice" in countries including Brazil, Canada, Germany, India and Poland (the UK is not listed). It is refunded if the employee resigns. Amounts are not published.
  • Employer Liability Cost. A new "separate, clearly labelled line item", "calculated per employee based on gross salary", and mandatory "for all EOR clients in all countries". Deel says these costs were previously "either inside the G2N, or absorbed entirely by Deel". Rates per country are not published.
  • Off-currency contract: "$50 USD per employee" a month when the contract is not in the local currency (Poland paid in EUR is Deel's own example).
  • Late payment: "0.15% of the total invoice amount per day" after a 5-day term and 7-day grace. Card funding costs $0.30 plus 2.9% (US/EU) or 3.9% elsewhere; bank transfers $5.

FX is applied at "a Forward Rate provided by its banking partners"; Deel publishes no markup percentage. We found no Deel help article naming a termination fee, so we print none.

What Deel costs at pre-seed, seed and Series A

Our stage model puts 1, 4 and 12 people abroad next to a US team on its own payroll. The deposit is the cash-flow line nobody prices.

StagePeople abroadDeel EOR fees per yearEmployer on-costs abroad per yearDeel deposit held (1x to 1.5x)Same people as Deel contractors
Pre-seed1$7,188$17,242$9,024 to $13,536$588

Series A12$86,256$151,247$82,765 to $124,148$7,056

List prices, 12 months, no negotiation. Abroad: Germany; then Germany, UK, Canada, India; then two each of those plus Poland and Brazil. Illustrative local salaries (Germany EUR 75,000, UK GBP 65,000, Ontario CAD 105,000, India INR 24 lakh, Poland PLN 240,000, Brazil BRL 20,000 a month), ECB rates of October 12, 2026. Deposit = salary + employer costs + $599, one month and 1.5 months. Excludes severance accruals, Employer Liability Cost and FX. Computed in our payroll cost model.

Deel's EOR fees cost about 15, 25 and 28 days of runway at the three stages in our model, against 1 to 3 days for any US payroll tool. The deposit is refundable, but at seed and Series A it holds between a quarter and almost half of a month's net burn with Deel until each hire leaves. Run your own team to see your number.

Prices that went up

  • US Payroll: $19 per employee (June 2024 and February 2025), then "Speak to sales", now $29 (June 2026 onward).
  • US PEO: $79 (June 2024), $89 (February 2025), $95 (April 2025), $125 (June 2026).
  • Deel HR: "Deel HR is free of charge" on deel.com/hr in January 2025; Core HR is now $5 per employee a month, Advanced $19, Elite $29.

The PEO price is also unresolved on Deel's own page today: the Hire tab says "$125 per US PEO employee per month", the Pay tab says "PEO Starter $110" and "PEO Pro $120". We show both and could not tell which a new customer is quoted.

The current PEO promotion ("Get 3 months free of PEO") is a lock-in: it applies to order forms signed from July 15 to December 31, 2026 with "minimum two (2) year terms", the credit lands "at the end of the initial Term", and early termination means you "pay Deel the full list price fees for the entire Order Form". Read that before you take it for a three-person US team.

Company status

Deel raised $300 million at a $17.3 billion valuation (Series E, per its blog) and bought Omnipresent in October 2025. Rippling sued Deel in March 2025 (N.D. Cal. 3:25-cv-02576); Rippling alleges corporate espionage, and the court ruled in February 2026 that the racketeering and trade-secret claims can proceed. Deel has filed its own suit and counterclaims. A status conference is set for November 13, 2026, with no trial date. Details in Deel vs Rippling.

Not hands-on tested yet: we have not run a live account on Deel. Prices and terms come from Deel's published pricing page and help center, read on October 13, 2026.

Alternatives at a glance

  • Remote: EOR at $599 or $699 (its pages disagree), contractors $29, no standard deposit. See Deel vs Remote.
  • Rippling: EOR "starting at $499" on its own blog, plus US payroll on one platform. See Rippling pricing.
  • Pebl (formerly Velocity Global): $399, the lowest published EOR headline. More in Deel alternatives.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Deel EOR cost per month in 2026?

$599 per employee per month on the public page, plus the employee's salary and employer costs, a deposit of 1 to 1.5 months of all charges, a severance accrual in some countries and the Employer Liability Cost line.

Is Deel free for contractors?

No. Contractor management is $49 per contractor per month; Contractor of Record, where Deel carries the classification liability, is $325. The contractor pays withdrawal fees on some payout methods (for example $5 cross-border).

Are there hidden costs with Deel?

Not hidden, but outside the headline: the deposit, severance accruals, Employer Liability Cost, the $50 off-currency fee, late fees and card fees are all in Deel's help center, not on its pricing page.

Does Deel have a free plan?

Not any more. Deel HR was free until early 2025; Core HR now costs $5 per employee per month.

Is Deel pricing negotiable?

Deel publishes only month-to-month list prices and handles annual billing through sales, so the annual figure is a quote. Ask for the deposit terms and the Employer Liability Cost rate per country in writing at the same time.
